About Etiqa: Etiqa’s history began in 2005 when Maybank Ageas (formerly known as Mayban Ageas), Maybank’s insurance and takaful arm consisting of Mayban General Assurance, Mayban Life Assurance and Mayban Takaful merged with Malaysia National Insurance Berhad, Malaysia’s largest national insurer and its subsidiary, Takaful Nasional Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s premier Takaful provider. Two years following the merger, in 2007, the name Etiqa was born. In 2018, in support of Bank Negara Malaysia’s Financial Services Act 2013 Islamic Financial Services Act 2013, and to better serve our stakeholders, Etiqa has become four organizations: Etiqa General Insurance Berhad (EGIB) Etiqa Life Insurance Berhad (ELIB) Etiqa General Takaful Berhad (EGTB) Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad (EFTB)
Job Description
– Exercise prudent underwriting support and continuously review underwriting guidelines and procedures to abreast with market developments.
– Ensure process and procedures are adhered to achieve higher resource productivity with effective underwriting workflow to ensure reasonable turnaround time.
– Review and implement department operation planning to achieve objectives and goals of department in order to strengthen rapport with internal & external customer
– Provides technical underwriting support including training
– Accountability based on Board approved LOA
– Responsible for placement of facultative reinsurance and risk survey.
– Involves in yearly placement of Reinsurance Treaty
– Coordinating and cooperating with other related sections, internal & external customer to facilitate and resolve all underwriting issues inclusive of complaints and enquiries on underwriting progress and decision
– Performing other tasks assigned by management

Job Requirements
– Degree or other equivalent discipline in Insurance
– At least 5 years’ experience and well versed in underwriting technical knowledge, processes and procedures
– Proficiency in verbal and written English and Khmer
– Positive, proactive, with good business acumen and result-oriented
– Independent, self-driven and resourceful
– Personable, active listener. Independent, energetic, self-driven, likes to solve challenging problems
– Passionate about people, active listener and team player
– Confident in making prompt and sound decisions
– Portray positive values (including teamwork, integrity, growth, efficiency/excellence and relationship building) to the organization and able to influence others to apply the positive values in the Department and throughout the organization
– At least 5 years’ experience and well versed in underwriting technical knowledge, processes and procedures
